The parent company, Pierre Fabre, (est.1961) has seen its operations grow in two main businesses: Pharmacy and Cosmetics. It is now France's leading company in skin cosmetics, and the No.2 independent pharmaceutical laboratory; since 1998 it has been part of the Dolisos group.

In its decision-making, the senior management of the Pierre Fabre SA group is perceptive to the need to increase the international scope of its operations. As early as 1996, the overall financial management decided to include a performance analysis element in the recasting of the information system based at Castres in southern France. The application Decision of Infor has been closely involved, with Infor applications in use for the last two years for budget forming, reporting and strategic planning. At the end of 1998, the Internet version was adopted for easier access to the application for analysing the performance of the various subsidiaries abroad. After the successful pilot sites in France, Spain, Switzerland and Greece, the group has moved to the next stage, extending this solution to twenty subsidiaries.

The application Decision of Infor was the first application that the group deployed internationally, and took account of all aspects of the structure of Laboratoires Pierre Fabre; it made a significant improvement to the time taken for analysis, drafting and follow-up of the budget.
