The Arcelor group is the worlds largest producer of Flat
Carbon Steels and Long Carbon Steel, among the leaders in Stainless
Steels production, and among the largest firms in Europe for steel
Distribution, Transformation and Trading. Arcelor was created in
2002 through the merger of three European steelmakers Aceralia,
Arbed and Usinor. Arcelor has approximately 104,000 employees in
over 60 countries. In 2002, the Groups annual production was
44 million tons of steel, with revenues of € 26.6 billion on
a pro forma basis.
Tailored Blank Arcelor, a division of Arcelor Auto, started in 2003
with a benchmarking project to compare defined Key Performance Indicators
(KPIs) between the 9 different manufacturing plants of the
company. A pilot was set up using Microsoft Excel.
At the end of 2003, the company decided to use Infor Performance
Management software to automate its benchmarking project throughout
all the manufacturing plants.
Around 20 decision makers of 9 different manufacturing plants of
Tailored Blank Arcelor will use the Infor application to facilitate
their monthly MIS reporting. |
